How to Counter Void Assassin Hyperroll Strategy
If you've been playing TFT this current patch, you've probably run into the Void Assassin Hyperroll strategy. It involves a level three Kassadin with Spatula coupled with a large variety of other three-star units. It's probably the strongest and most consistent strategy in TFT right now, but there are certainly ways to beat it.

What is the Void Assassin Hyperroll Strategy?
Before we get into how to counter the void assassin strategy, let's go over exactly what it is.
- Grab a spatula or BF sword from the Carousel
- If you fail to get a spatula, sandbag early game to get to last place and pick one up from the carousel
- Pick up every Kassadin, Rek'Sai, Kha'Zix and any Pyke/Zed you see. Ignore Evelynn and Rengar for now, you'll get those later.
- Never level up, gather economy until you're 2 EXP away from level 5, then hyperroll down to pick up all of the 1 and 2 star units pictured below.
- Get Rapid Firecannon and Youmuu's Ghostblade on Kassadin
- Win
How It Works
Insane Void Damage Synergy
Before this gets nerfed, Voids are currently doing true damage to all units with just three of them. This means that mid-game, you can absolutely shred through any defenses that the enemy team is running.
Hypercarry Kassadin
In this build, Kassadin gest true damage, Assassin critical strikes, and mana drain all at the same time. This makes him insanely powerful. With the Assassin bonus, he's also placed directly on the back-line where players generally like to stick their Aurelion Sols and other powerful glass cannons.
Simple Execution
This strategy does not require much in the way of thinking about placement. You just set the Kassadin to kill whatever target you're aiming for and your assassins do the rest.

Counters
Here's the moment you've all been waiting for...how the heck do we counter this stupid strategy?! Turns out there are a variety of ways to counter them, which is listed below:
- Build Zephyr
- Place Baits in Corners
- Build Phantom
- Deny Spatula and BF Sword
- Shrink
Let's talk about each one of them in-depth now.
Step 1: Build Zephyr
When you play this assassin build, you forego summoner levels for unit levels. This means that the assassin player will have relatively few units on the board, but all very strong units. By building Zephyr, you greatly reduce the initial power spike. Better yet, because they're all assassins, Zephyr will negate the initial gap-closer.
Step 2: Place Baits in Corners
At the start of the game, Assassins jump to the farthest unit away from them. By placing baits in the corners and your carries in the middle, this causes all the assassins to jump to the sides and crowd up, giving your carries more time to fight back.
Step 3: Build Phantom Synergy
Three-star units start with an absurd amount of health. By picking up Phantom, you can instantly take one out of the fight. If it's a different unit from the one that's Zephyr'd (which is likely the case), you've drastically cut down on their fighting force the second the fight starts.
Step 4: Deny Spatula and BF Sword
This one is straight-forward. This composition only works if they can get Youmuu's Ghostblade onto one of their voids. If you deny them Youmuu's or even Rapid Firecannon, you can greatly reduce their fighting power. Luckily, the three items that are needed to build Rapid Firecannon and Youmuu's are in high demand for nearly every build.
Step 5: Shrink
If you're running a team composition that has some rapid attack speed built-in, picking up Shrink can greatly increase your changes of victory if you're also following the first four steps in this counter formula. By taking away their main advantage of having three-star units, you're giving yourself a much bigger pathway to victory.
There you have it, five ways to counter void assassins in Team Fight Tactics. On the other hand, most players likely won't read this guide and maybe just going void/assassins is the way to go. If you have friends that are complaining how busted this strategy is however, feel free to point them to this guide!
