League of Legends Tier Lists generally show what you should be playing, but don't necessarily show what you'll be up against. Looking for a LoL tier list shows which champions other players are playing in the current meta? This League tier list takes out the unorthodox selections from the standard tier list and uses a data-driven approach to pick out what players are most afraid of and think are strongest.

FOTM RANKED META LEAGUE TIER LIST
Which League Champions Are Most Popular?
It's been a while since the last time we updated the FOTM tier list, largely because the two lists are starting to show a lot of similarities. On the other hand, a lot of lanes are still heavily populated by extremely fun, but somewhat difficult to use champions. This patch we're seeing a lot of heavy rotation in the bot lane as a result of the latest nerfs and buffs, but I don't want to spoil the surprise.

The purpose of the "Flavor of the Month" ("FOTM") list is to show which champions are popular in today's metagame in terms of pro picks and high Elo choices.

Instructions and Caveats:
God Tier: These champions are common bans and are likely perceived as being "overall extremely strong/broken". They have very obvious and/or flashy skills that make them appear stronger than other champions. You'll likely see these champions picked early on if they're not banned.
Tier 1: These champions are the ones you'll see in the majority of your games and are good to familiarize yourself with as you'l be battling against them a lot.
Tier 2: These champions are relatively strong and have historically been picked more often than other champions. They may have been nerfed at one point at another, but are still perceived as strong in their current states.
Tier 3: These champions aren't quite as popular as the rest of the champions in the first 3 tiers, but picking them one at a time isn't going to cause much of a concern on your team. However, if you have a team of 5 of them your teammates are likely to feel a bit uneasy about your chances of winning in solo queue.
Tier 4: Selecting these champions will likely cause a rift between you and your teammates, who will proceed to flame you if you fail your lane. Exercise caution when selecting these champions, as team morale often plays a big part in victory or defeat.

- This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

Champion Explanations
- Caitlyn [God Tier Bot Carry] - After nerfs on Kai'Sa and Xayah coupled with a 2 damage buff on Caitlyn, Caitlyn's the new favorite bot lane marksman. Her ability to snowball through lane bullying is immense, and players are enjoying her early game harass more than ever.
- Evelynn [God Tier Jungle] - Out of all the junglers on the Rift, few are feared more than Evelynn. Although she's not quite as strong as she was in some past versions, in her current state she's more than enough to dispatch most marksmen late game faster than they can blink. When you couple this with her incredible ability to stay alive, she quickly becomes one of the more frustrating jungle assassins to deal with,
- Kai'sa [God Tier Bot Carry] - Despite the recent nerfs to Kai'Sa, she remains the #1 favorite marksmen of adc mains everywhere. Her power level is extremely good when it comes to burst. As a marksman/assassin hybrid, mid lane mains love playing her too.
- Pantheon [Tier 1 Support] - If you missed our latest article on Pantheon support, be sure to check it out. It's surprisingly powerful post-rework, and his base damages are enough to 100 to 0 the majority of bot laners. His diving ability also lets him successfully execute three-man dives bot lane better than any other support in the game other than Taric.
- Qiyana [Tier 1 Mid] - Ever since she started seeing more high-level play, players are finally appreciating the potential of Qiyana. Her kit has a ton of variation to it, which gives her great flexibility depending on the specific situation at hand.
- Sona [Tier 2 Support] - After the joy of Sona + Taric bot faded away, Sona's back in the doghouse for most players. Her early game is one-dimensional and her lack of all-in kill potential is a turn-off. That being said, she's one of the only supports I'd consider a true hypercarry. If you can survive to late game you'll still be well rewarded.
- Swain [Tier 2 Support] - Similar to Pantheon, Swain support is also coming into his own. His kit scales very well into the late game and he's got plenty of long-range catch-potential for initiation.
- Yuumi [Tier 1 Support] - Yuumi is still a hotly contested pick/ban, despite her best synergy (Sivir) falling out of favor. She does synergize somewhat well with Caitlyn during laning phase, but ends up in more of a peel role rather than an engagement role.
