Dodging a Ranked Queue
It's a form of art. Dodge too many times and you'll be penalized for too much LP. But dodging is certainly a viable strategy to gain LP in the long run. Most of the time, games are winnable no matter what the team comps are, but sometimes, you'll know you're either in for a long, grueling game or a painfully short one.

One Trick Gets Banned
We've all been there, you have that 3000 game Singed on your team and somehow the enemy team bans out Singed. Next thing you know, he's locked in Teemo top (poison synergy?) and you know you're in for a treat. You could play it out hoping for a pleasant surprise or face the inevitable Godlike Darius in 15 minutes.
Ban Each Other's Mains
Sometimes the enemy team doesn't even need to ban your mains, and your teammate bans another's hover champion. Naturally, this ends up with that player banning the offending banner's hover champion...things go downhill from here.
Forgot to Swap
Not all teammates are bad, some are just forgetful. Maybe they had the best intentions but nature called, urging them to run away before trading for their Amumu jungle and getting stuck on Janna with Smite. Is it time to find out if Janna is an effective jungler? Probably not.
First Time Champ
Some players want to try out a champion for the first time in ranked, and naturally, there's gotta be a first time for every champion. There's nothing wrong with this by itself, but if you see multiple players all on first-time champs like Sylas, Azir, and Zed, maybe it's time to consider saving yourself some LP.
Literally Inting Every Game
Once in a while you get a player that's literally inting every game, running it down mid and dropping 30 deaths a game. If you see their match history is ten games of straight losses with 300 deaths total, it's not time to find out if they can break their record this game. It's time to get out while you still have your sanity.
"Sorry if I lag, I'm on a boat"
This is a true story. Someone once said this in a game, and it turns out he really did lag...HARD. Twelve disconnects in a 45 minute game. On the other hand, we ended up winning that game, so I'm not sure if there's a real lesson here besides that this made the game incredibly difficult.
Massive Loss Sprees
Having a player or two on your team with massive loss sprees isn't necessarily a bad thing if they're still playing champions that they're good at. On the other hand, if all four of your teammates are on massive loss sprees that might be like throwing a flamethrower into a barrel of oil. If you decide to play that one out maybe try using the mute all function.
Forced Role Swap
The infamous duo queue forced role swap is still alive and well. When they force your ADC main into jungle and your support into top lane, you'd think your bot lane can now carry with their ultimate synergy. Turns out this rarely happens and all that occurs is everyone plays badly.
Master Yi and Taric
If you see Master Yi and Taric on the enemy team, you might be thinking oh gee that's annoying. On the other hand, if they lock in Janna for a third champion I suggest dodging. This setup is notorious for being a Chinese boosting favorite. High level smurfs often end up with 80%+ win rates running through to Platinum. If you're not confident your team is good enough to beat this strategy, this duo will run through solo queue teams like a hot knife through butter. Save yourself the pain and get out!
