The Season Ends Early November
As November approaches desperation to reach the next tier increases drastically. Players are turning away from their favorite fun champions to pick up try-hard champions for the final push to the top. Check out our top 10 picks for champions to finish off Season 8 at your highest division yet!Miss Fortune (Marksman)
Despite all her success, Miss Fortune continues to be an underrated marksman. Her damage is off the charts, and she can easily out-trade more difficult enemy champions even if they land all their skill shots. She's consistently good and is one of the few marksmen who can literally 1v5 and simultaneously one shot a champion at the same time.
Twitch (Marksman)
Twitch is sort of the opposite of Miss Fortune. Where Miss Fortune's a dominant laning phase champion, Twitch is more of that late-game traditional marksman type. Again, he's extremely consistent and just requires good positioning, which is something all marksmen mains should be trying to do to begin with.
Rammus (Jungle)
I know I'm always promoting Rammus, but there's a good reason for this. His ganking ability is incredibly easy yet effective, and there are so many players that will blind pick full AD teams even if you first pick him.
Jax (Jungle)
Understandably, a full tank jungler is not for everyone. If you prefer the carry type, Jax is definitely going to be the one you want to pick up. His late game damage and survivability is immense, and again, his gank pattern is incredibly simple to pull off.
Lux (Mid)
This is one of the rare cases where I'll recommend a heavy skillshot based champion on your climb. The reason I'm okay with Lux is that her extreme range allows her to stay safe against pretty much every threat. This gives her ample opportunity to throw tons of spells out until one finally hits and she 100 to 0s someone.
Malzahar (Mid)
This guy might get countered by a QSS, but it's not like the entire enemy team will be building one. Meanwhile, the latest liandry buffs make him very powerful considering that's one of his core build items. Most of the time squishies build QSS, but it's really Malzahar's ability to 100 to 0 tanks that makes him terrifying.
Garen (Top)
When it comes to a braindead simple and effective champion, Garen is a go-to for most top lane mains nowadays. He shreds through pretty much any enemy, and if you don't get burst down in the initial stages of a fight then you can simply walk out and walk back in at full health. Stack a Spirit Visage and a Warmog's Armor for extra crazy heal potential/
Malphite (Top)
For players that want a higher impact top laner than Garen, Malphite is powerful for many of the same reasons that Rammus is. He's a natural counter to all AD based champions, and trust me, there are plenty of Yasuo players just begging to be annihilated.
Sona (Support)
When it comes to supports a lot of the ranged sustain supports are pretty even. I know I tout Nami pretty highly, but honestly speaking when it comes to pure consistent carrying, Sona is the one you want to pick up. Her initiation is much faster and her laning phase can snowball much harder without a competent marksman.
Leona (Support)
Our final pick to round things out is Leona. She's the epitomy of engage champions and possibly the best playmaking support out there outside of Thresh (who is still a bit too inconsistent to recommend). If you're team is lacking an engage, she's perfect. If your team already has engage, she's a perfect compliment.
