Instructions and Caveats:

• This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

God Tier: These champions are common bans and are likely perceived as being "overall extremely strong/broken". They have very obvious and/or flashy skills that make them appear stronger than other champions. You'll likely see these champions picked early on if they're not banned.

Tier 1: These champions are the ones you'll see in the majority of your games and are good to familiarize yourself with as you'l be battling against them a lot.

Tier 2: These champions are relatively strong and have historically been picked more often than other champions. They may have been nerfed at one point at another, but are still perceived as strong in their current states.

Tier 3: These champions aren't quite as popular as the rest of the champions in the first 3 tiers, but picking them one at a time isn't going to cause much of a concern on your team. However, if you have a team of 5 of them your teammates are likely to feel a bit uneasy about your chances of winning in solo queue.

Tier 4: Selecting these champions will likely cause a rift between you and your teammates, who will proceed to flame you if you fail your lane. Exercise caution when selecting these champions, as team morale often plays a big part in victory or defeat.

Champion Explanations

• Graves [God Tier Jungle] - Despite the nerf to Graves on his cooldown and base damage, he continues to dominate the new rift scuttle meta-game. Although he's not quite the faceroll champion he was in the last few patches, he's pretty much the same old lovable unkillable one-man army.
• Irelia [Tier 1 Mid] - Irelia in her current form is actually quite decent as mid-laner as well, and she plays much like you would expect other melee assassins to play. While she's still played significantly more top lane, mid-lane gives her more roam potential.
• Kai'Sa [God Tier Marksman] - While the marksmen changes in this patch shifted most of the other ones around a bit, Kai'Sa remains largely untouched since her item build is completely different from those of other marksmen. As a result, she can still dominate with the same builds as last patch.
• Lucian [God Tier Marksman] - The Blade of the Ruined King cost reduction combined with the new features on Essence Reaver brought back the old tank Lucian build with Black Cleaver, something we haven't seen in a long time but is super obnoxious when it comes to dual roles. He's essentially Graves in lane, unkillable, always high pressure, and absurdly strong in the mid-game.
• Master Yi [God Tier Jungle] - Master Yi is annoying enough by himself. However, players are pushing him to new heights with popular boosting strategies borrowed from Twisted Treeline including playing Taric in a solo lane and funneling gold all into this unstoppable hypercarry.  
• Pyke [God Tier Support] - Despite a lot of early difficulty with Pyke's kit, after the hotfix players are quickly learning to love this Duskblade packing support. He's basically the assassin every support dreamed of playing without the rage from your marksman for taking the kill.
• Pyke [Tier 1 Jungle] - As a jungler Pyke does okay. His ganks aren't amazing since they do take some time to setup properly, and enemies can tell when he's near. That being said, it's not like he's a bad jungler, and while taxing minions still doesn't give your fellow teammates gold, at least he spreads the wealth once he gets his ultimate.
• Xin Zhao [God Tier Jungle] - Again, similar to Graves Xin Zhao is still annihilating enemy junglers with ease. Although he's clearly not as strong as he was last patch, he's still perfectly playable.
• Yasuo [God Tier Mid] - The changes on critical strike items basically gutted Yasuo for a short period of time. However, after the hotfix changes he's back on track for most players. People who didn't play him between the patch and the hotfix likely won't even notice much of a change in his playstyle.
