The purpose of the "Flavor of the Month" ("FOTM") list is to show which champions are popular in today's metagame in terms of pro picks and high Elo choices.

Instructions and Caveats:

• This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

God Tier: These champions are common bans and are likely perceived as being "overall extremely strong/broken". They have very obvious and/or flashy skills that make them appear stronger than other champions. You'll likely see these champions picked early on if they're not banned.

Tier 1: These champions are the ones you'll see in the majority of your games and are good to familiarize yourself with as you'l be battling against them a lot.

Tier 2: These champions are relatively strong and have historically been picked more often than other champions. They may have been nerfed at one point at another, but are still perceived as strong in their current states.

Tier 3: These champions aren't quite as popular as the rest of the champions in the first 3 tiers, but picking them one at a time isn't going to cause much of a concern on your team. However, if you have a team of 5 of them your teammates are likely to feel a bit uneasy about your chances of winning in solo queue.

Tier 4: Selecting these champions will likely cause a rift between you and your teammates, who will proceed to flame you if you fail your lane. Exercise caution when selecting these champions, as team morale often plays a big part in victory or defeat.

Champion Explanations

• Ezreal [God Tier Marksman] - Ezreal in his current form is highly busted in so many roles that even support Ezreal is starting to look broken. Many players at various divisions are finding great success with him via the Precision tree, which synergizes well with his kit. On the other hand, Higher division players are doing even better with Ezreal via the Kleptomancy rune, which I'll put up an article on later. Either way, Ezreal in his current state is pretty overpowered. Nerfplz.
• Gangplank [God Tier Top] - Similar to Ezreal, Gangplank is absolutely loving this new patch and with Kleptomancy, he gains an absurd amount of gold so fast that it's nearly impossible to keep up with his resources. He also gains a ton of waveclear power from Minion Dematerializer if you choose to pick it up, but most players are opting for Future's Market right now as he doesn't have much difficulty with waveclear to begin with.
• Katarina [God Tier Mid] - The new Domination tree allows Katarina to snowball insanely hard. When you combine her new spellvamp with the burst damage runes, Katarina quickly becomes a force to be reckoned with as she snowballs through teams via AOE damage resets.
• Lulu [God Tier Support] - Lulu is one of the stronger of the supports right now as a result of her incredible synergy with the Sorcery tree, resulting in incredibly low cooldowns on her game-changing teammate saving spells.
• Malzahar [God Tier Mid] - Malzahar in his current form is almost impossible to push out of lane when he's using the Manaflow Band rune. When you tack this onto Arcane Comet's synergy with his ultimate, it becomes very difficult to survive his post-6 laning phase. 
• Sona [Tier 1 Support] - Sona's gotta be one of the most annoying champions ever when you combine her with Kleptomancy. Although she also does well with a similar rune setup to Lulu, her ability to maximize the amount of gold she pulls from Kleptomancy gives her an incredible advance through the progression of the game.
• Yasuo [God Tier Top] - Yasuo's current popularity I'm not so sure about. His spike this patch may just be pre-season practice as he's a very fun champion to play. 
• Zed [God Tier Mid] - Similar to Katarina, the new burst damage assassin runes make him incredibly unfun to play against once he snowballs, resulting in the highest banrate through all tiers.
