It's clear that Riot wants Rumble back on the main stage, and won't stop buffing him until he is. Meanwhile, Corki is safely off the nerf block after a few hits on his passive, making him a great choice to main if you like his playstyle.
These otherwise dissimilar champions share one key trait, which is the massive damage output they do if enemy champions are stuck in a small area. Sporting a potential 2500+ damage over five seconds on Corki's special delivery at max level and 1200+ on rumble in a wider area, these two can absolutely annihilate enemy teams in literally five seconds.

Main Goals
Fight In Confined Spaces
The main drawback of Rumble's ultimate and Corki's special delivery is their narrow area of effect abilities. While they generally get at least one tick off, dropping all five ticks generally requires either extremely poor judgement or some sort of crowd control.
The alternative of this is to of course, fight in confined spaces such as the ramps leading to Baron pit. By limiting the area that enemies can move to, this also maximizes the overall damage of the two ultimates.

Funnel Champions Into Additional Skillshots
One of the best parts about Corki and Rumble are that by cutting off areas of massive damage, it also automatically forces enemy champions to quickly decide between walking into other skillshots or continuously taking extreme damage every second. By selecting heavy skillshot oriented champions, you can maximize your team's damage regardless of where they move.
Take Advantage of Versatility

Take Advantage of Versatility
One of the best parts of having Rumble and Corki on the team is their ability to be excellent flex picks. Rumble can be played either Top, Jungle, or even potentially mid lane. Meanwhile, Corki transitions between mid and marksman with ease. This allows your team to pick up some excellent supporting players to fill some of the roles below.
Supporting Teammates
Strong CC Compliments
One of the easiest ways to keep enemies inside the Rumble and Corki ultimates is to stick them in place via some sort of powerful crowd control spell. Examples of champions that would work well in this role include:
- Jarvan IV
- Amumu
- Sejuani
- Malphite
- Galio
- Orianna
- Leona
- Braum
- Zyra
- Gangplank
Strong Skillshot Based AOE Champions
Additional champions that would work well on this team include champions that can maximize their damage via long ranged skillshot damage that increases with the number of champions hit, such as:
- Azir
- Ahri
- Viktor
- Jhin
- Lux
- Varus
- Xerath
Example Teams
Top: Rumble
Mid: Corki
ADC: Jhin
Support: Leona
Jungle: Amumu
Top: Malphite
Mid: Orianna
ADC: Corki
Support: Braum
Jungle: Rumble
Potential Difficulty
High Cooldown Burst
Despite both having decent sustained damage, waveclear, and poke, the main draw to this type of combination still lies with their high cooldown ultimates. Additionally, Corki's special delivery has a limited time frame where it can be used, which means strategizing its usage can be difficult against high turtle-based teams.

Conclusions
Corki and Rumble provide two very similar high powered spells in both damage type and aesthetic appeal. It's difficult to keep enemy teams in it for long enough to deal its full duration, but if you organize your team around their damage, great things can happen. Try it out and let me know how it goes!
