Introduction

Hey everyone! Work stalled me out of the last few weeks so I'm playing a bit of catch-up in terms of posting content. To start off with, let's check out a new Top 10 List, this one suggested by Nerfplz fan Jerfery Thorbad!

Below are a list of the Top 10 most flexible champions, champions that can be safely first picked without worrying that the enemy team has any idea where you're going. Check out the full list below!

1. Cho'Gath

A tanky champion with excellent waveclear and excellent crowd control, Cho'Gath can fit into every role except an AD marksman. It's debatable how strong of a support he is, but as a top, mid, and jungler he's absolutely viable and appreciated across the board.

First picking him at the moment is extremely safe, as he has very few true "counters" with his outrageous sustain and safe waveclear abilities.

2. Nautilus

Kind of the new Cho'Gath on the block, Nautilus recently found immense success top lane during the latest ranked season. Again with his excellent waveclear abilities, he's even viable as mid-laner, although not quite as accepted as his Support, Top, and Jungle roles.

The amount of CC he brings is a welcome addition to every team, and he deals an extraordinary amount of damage, even with pure tank items.

3. Pantheon

The first true glass cannon on the list, some people try and put some tank items on Pantheon before finishing Black Cleaver and Last Whisper. For the most part, this is probably a huge mistake. As a primary lane bully, Pantheon relies on snowballing and aggressive playstyles to get ahead and stay ahead.

With his powerful level 1 damage and power spikes at levels 2, 3, and 6, Pantheon definitely wants to make sure to be extremely offensive and rely on his passive to stay alive through the early game.

As a Top, Mid, Jungle, and sometimes as a support or duo melee kill lane. Pantheon can find sucess in nearly every role.

4. Annie/Morgana

Primarily a support or mid laner at the moment, Annie and Morgana can both be played as a top laner as well. However, as two of the more basic mages, it's very hard to find a true counter to them in any given lane. As a result, picking either of them first is very safe as they can easily swap to another role without a hiccup.

5. Tahm Kench

This guy's the reason why Annie and Morgana had to share a number on the list. Any Flex Champ list that doesn't list Tahm Kench clearly isn't thinking hard enough. Originally a primary support, he's found extremely high success as both a top laner and as a jungler.

Surprisingly, he's even succeeded mid lane (although he was in the hands of one of the greats...Faker).

With his excellent percentage based scaling, low cooldowns, and extremely fun Devour skill, he might just become the most successful champion creation Riot's turned out this year, and that's saying a lot!

6. Gragas

Where Tahm is the new star fat boy of the rift, the old fat boy isn't too shabby himself. As a champion that was formerly a gas guzzling high damage mage, he's now transformed into more of a super mobile utility bruiser/mage hybrid.

This being said, he works wonderfully as a jungler and to some extent as a support as well. Once in a blue moon you see him top lane and even rarer in mid lane. However, finding him in either lane isn't particularly uncommon either as he's definitely very viable in either location if you're good enough.

7. Lulu

With a kit as overloaded as Lulu's you'd probably expect to see her mostly as a support champion as intended. However, she can just as often be found top or mid lane with her excellent harassing potential and strong early game waveclear.

A long time back there was talk of her playing as an AD carry-esque type of role via Wit's End, but that never quite caught on....

8. Nidalee

Ah yes...I remember back when AD carry Nidalee was far more popular than jungle Nidalee. Meanwhile, I mained support Nidalee on my smurf for almost a full season #datdamage.

At the moment she's continuously falling out of favor, but it only takes one or two amazing highlight reel plays before you see her back in pretty much every lane again.

Currently she's played almost exclusively as a jungler in the competitive scene. However, she can just as easily find herself as a top or mid laner as well, or even a support with her excellent poke and strong attack speed steroid + heal.

9. Kayle

Similar to Nidalee, there used to be talk of Kayle as an AD carry, and also possibly as a support. However, she also somehow found herself banished to the jungle, despite her insanely strong in-lane bullying potential.

After nerfs to Devourer, Kayle is back in Mid/Top lane more than ever now, sporting a fairly equal distribution between the three. However, once in a blue moon you might find yourself with a Kayle derping around bot lane...maybe the same game as the one where Gragas heads mid for old times' sake...

10. Jarvan IV

Last but not least on the list is Jarvan IV, renown for his double gap closer and automatic armor shredding combo. As a jungler he's still respected, if not feared. Meanwhile, his top lane is gaining notoriety with competitive play and his mid-lane cheese abilities are nothing to scoff at.

The famous Jarvan + Leona bruiser bot combo is also alive and well, although not "meta" at the moment. Maybe with more Mordekaiser action we'll start seeing high damage bruisers (JARVAN) make a comeback in the duo lane bot as well.

For the ultimate who-the-heck am I playing team comp, try the following:

Mid: Cho'Gath
Support: Nautilus
ADC: Jarvan IV
Jungler: Kayle
Top Lane: Tahm Kench

You're sure to confuse the heck out of your opponents, especially if you all run Exhausts and Ignites along with double smite.

Honorable Flex Pick Mentions: Irelia, Diana, Karma, Kennen
