With the insanely high power levels of tanky melee champions on the rift at the moment, it's time to bring back the super tanky unkillable league of juggernauts. An extremely fun team comp that plays aggressively, bot lane is definitely a laugh and a half.Champions
Mordekaiser [Bot Lane] - The primary farmer, Mordekaiser in his current state plays extremely well against the "meta" AD carries such as Kalista, Lucian, and Tristana. With heavy auto-attack based, generally short range champions the norm, he can easily farm up a game winning 6v4. Check out this article on a full how-to on playing Mordekaiser bot.
Cho'Gath [Mid] - An extremely high CC powerhouse, Cho'Gath naturally gets tankier and tankier as the game goes on, even if he builds mostly AP based items. Combined with Mordekaiser, Cho can easily turtle for as long as it takes for the enemy team to make a mistake, or go on full offensive with a single knock-up.
Nautilus [Support] - The champion that gives Mordekaiser's insane abilities the spotlight they deserve, he creates picks and holds down enemy champions long enough for the melee combos to come out.
Skarner [Jungler] - Permabanned in ranked, Skarner jungle is beyond godlike even with his hotfix nerfs. an excellent initiator, Skarner can lock down and kill almost any target by himself while all the while dealing his AOE damage.
Garen [Top Laner] - Juggernaut champion himself, there are few that come to mind when it comes to Top lane as Garen, ultimate lane bully. Of course Darius also begs to differ and contends with him for that title, but we gotta go for the good guys right? There's not enough space in the villain arena for both Mordekaiser and Darius...
Key Concepts
- This team should make sure laners do early jungle camps to game a lead, then try and quickly snowball via kill opportunities top and bot.
- Try and end the game as soon as possible, especially since late game poke and range in general quickly becomes difficult to deal with unless your team has its flashes up.
Countering
Beating a team like this generally revolves around strong waveclear champions, and good disengage.
Here's an example team that may succeed:
Here's an example team that may succeed:
- Malzahar [Mid] - With his strong percentage based damage and naturally tanky build, Malzahar can easily contend with the juggernauts.
- Amumu [Jungle] - Fight fire with water. Tears from Amumu also deal percentage based damage, and he can lock down their dives very effectively.
- Lulu [Top] - Keeping your AD carries from dying to Mordekaiser is an excellent goal, one which Lulu does extremely well. She also deals with Garen's straightforward attack pattern well, which is a bonus.
- Janna [Support] - Queen of disengages.
- Vayne [ADC] - Despite the fact that Mordekaiser does decently against Vayne, against a team composition this tanky, Vayne is the obvious choice.
