Theme

Today's team composition is one focused on some of the most beloved champions in the game. Technically advanced, great mobility, and massive nerfs are the common themes among this champion set.

If you all happen to be good at your respective champions, this is the one for the highlight reel. On the other hand, it might also be one for the challenjour reel.

Champions

Lucian [Marksman] - The man with the plan, Luci-an. With his rapid attacks, flashy skills, and smooth dodges, Lucian has been a crowd favorite for quite some time now. He's still the go-to for most high level players when they don't know which AD carry to play, and has the distinct honor of having the lowest win rate in the game for AD carries in solo queue.

Azir [Mid] - The 50 minute master, Azir makes up in the late mid and late late game where Lee Sin starts to fall off. His unique ability to gain attack speed via cooldown reduction makes him an extremely hard scaling champion with extreme mobility.

Thresh [Support] - Ah Thresh, everyone's favorite support (though losing ground to Bard). With his insane amount of utility available at his disposal, the plays he can make are always impressive. Strangely though, he happens to be a ranged diving champion; this means he's always in the fray (in the flay?) but yet never gains any passive magic resist, unlike other melee diving champions. This means he tends to be somewhat squishy and needs to be more careful than say, a Leona.

Lee Sin [Jungler] - As arguably the most mobile jungler in the game, Lee Sin is the crown jewel of big plays. With the amount of variety at his disposal, a good Lee Sin player can attack from more angles than Picasso. In this team, he'll likely take on a tank role, so the majority of his strength will lie in his early game snowball and late game ability to "insec" players back into his team.

Ekko [Top Laner] - The newest champion on the rift, Ekko has all the features of a Season 5 champion. Sporting percentage based damage, a multitude of complex skillshots, extreme mobility and an instantaneous mobile self-heal, Ekko has all the hallmarks of a broken champion. Luckily Riot's balance team managed to require players to utilize all his skills correctly to be effective, landing him at a smooth dead last in terms of win rate in solo queue top laners at 43%.

Key Concepts

  • This team requires a lot of individual practice, which as teams have learned the hard way, comes from solo queue.
  • In terms of coordination, this team does require a fairly high amount, simply because of the high risk plays that these champions tend to make.
  • If you're playing this team composition, be sure to have it recorded somewhere, you'll be bound to put together some great clips for your next montage.

Countering

This team is actually a fairly standard team in the hands of most players, if not a bit lower. Picking a team that's strong in lane and has decent teamfight power is usually enough, unless they happen to be really good at their champions.

Here's an example team that may succeed:
  • Talon [Mid] - Azir's major weakness is that he needs to react fast enough to do things. Talon removes that ability.
  • Nunu [Jungle] - Part of Lee Sin's strengths lies in counterjungling. Getting counterjungled on the other hand, is not something Lee excels in, especially with his relatively high cooldowns and skillshot-centric burst damage. Nunu does an excellent job making sure he doesn't get ahead.
  • Wukong [Top] - Nothing like a good old fashioned beat down. Ekko has an impressive 23% win rate vs Wukong top.
  • Nautilus [Support] - Thresh's abilities lead him to engage more often than not when he lands a hook. As one of the most insane traders in the game, Nautilus deals more damage and locks down targets for longer.
  • Ashe [ADC] - Taking a super short ranged champion like Lucian and pitting him against a long range AD carry like Ashe means that he's at a natural disadvantage. Meanwhile, her late game absolutely outclasses his in terms of sheer utility.

I see so many comps on here that have amazing stats for diving, dueling, and/or sieging, but I never see comps that excel in sustain. Please do a sustain comp (if you haven't done it already and I missed it)!

    Sustain Comp:
    Maokai Top
    Reksai Jungle
    Vlad Mid
    Soraka, Sona, or Taric Support
    Vayne ADC

Why Vayne:Vayne because BOTRK rushed as first item, but basically any adc that gets a BT or BOTRK will work here. Vayne also has a great peeler (maokai), and support to essentially keep her alive in fights long enough to take down even the tankiest enemy.

I'm saying they all would get some lifesteal item as part of their core. Not necessarily as their first item

Hello, with more and more poke Mid laner on the rift and the rise of Ezrael AP i thought about a Full Poke comp, it's a pretty long post but just look at the team and purpose improvement, i'm open to discuss :D

Theme : The idea around this comp is no only to poke, but also execute enemies in a safe range. Poke is based on skillshot which are not easy to land, by locking an enemy your poke become a kill without even using ultimate or be in range of aggression.

Comp : Support Morgana : With her dark binding who can lock an enemy for 3 seconds, all the abilities of others champions are easy to land, plus she can save you from a Hard CC with her shield
ADC : If we really want Extra CC and Full Poke we can go for Varus with ultimate stun and his piercing arrow, i think it's more usefull to pick Sivir who can disengage or follow a low enemy ewith ult, his boomerang do well damage and it's easy to land with morg' binding
Mid : Ezrael Ap : Actually the master of poke, Q,W and if needed R can be land with 3sec dark binding, he will do the more damage on the team, if nerfed we can go for Kog maw AP, Xerath might synergize also well with morg.
Jungle : Nidalee: With her spear she's the best Poke jungler on the rift, she can provide good early presence to help his mid/late team to reach his power spike.
Top : Jayce : Jayce gives your team insane poke, he also benefits well from morg's binding. He offers your team a ton of Ad damage and the itemization of enemy team is really hard with 3 Ap and 2 Ad on your team.

    Pro :
    - Realy strong mid/late game damage, you have a lot of skillshot and enemies can't avoid all of them.
    - When Morgana hit a binding, it's almost a secure kill
-You have a quite good mobility, so the team has the ability to disengage, or also Run/jump fast on isolated ennemies.
    - You have a good wave clear so the defense or siege of tower are easy.
    - If snowball, a few abilities and Luden's Proc will kill anyone in adverse team, which is fun.

    Cons :
-Your Are CC dependent of morg, QSS or Mikael counter hard his binding
    - As a Poke comp, you are not tanky at all and Hard engage counter you
    - Very Skill Comp, hard to master and can't really do a thing when playing behind in gold.
