We've been getting a little to serious (read: boring) with the team compositions lately, so I figured it's time to pick up the pace a bit. This time around we're pulling out one arguably one of the most fun team compositions to play with (providing you don't get absolutely stomped).

We've been getting a little to serious (read: boring) with the team compositions lately, so I figured it's time to pick up the pace a bit. This time around we're pulling out one arguably one of the most fun team compositions to play with (providing you don't get absolutely stomped). This team composition centers around an insane number of traps, meaning that any would be divers will be hard pressed to deal anything meaningful as they get kited around by fears, slows, massive turrets etc. Meanwhile, with Nidalee at the forefront of the poke war, it's inevitable that they'll need to eventually make moves.
Champions
Teemo [Marksman] - The star of every show, Teemo's early game as an AD carry is actually INSANELY good. The reason you don't see him as much is because his range makes his late game fall off greatly as a glass cannon. However, in this team composition his blind and shrooms provide much needed CC for kiting power on the back line.
Nidalee [Mid] - The only way to get a team to dive you is to make sure that you give them enough reason to never prolong the battle. Although long nerfed, Nidalee's spears still provide enough chunking power to send even the most healthy squishies back to base in a single blow.
Zyra [Support] - Where Teemo is lacking in range, Zyra makes up for it with her strong plant damage, CC, and early to mid game harassing power.
Shaco [Jungler] - There are few things worse than walking into a bush and being feared by a Shaco box. He doesn't necessarily need to go AP, especially if the enemy team is stacking magic resist. However, his early game allows his team to take advantage of their cheese tactics to get to that one-shot point with their traps.
Heimerdinger [Top Laner] - The ultimate anti-dive champion, Heimerdinger is a god of solo queue for good reason. A seemingly innocuous looking pair of yordles quickly turns into a massive round of tanks, mushrooms, plants, and jack-in-the boxes.
Key Concepts
- This team works primarily with AP damage. Be sure to rush void staff rather than Death Cap when possible to remain relevant in the game.
- Beware mobility and split pushing, and try to bait the enemy team mid, where you are strongest. If you can set up a siege line, you're in good shape to prevent the enemy team from leaving the base.
- Zz'Rot Portal and Banner of Command are excellent choices in this game, as they'll allow you to push the side lanes while grouping mid for extended sieges.
Countering
To counter this team, it's best to fight the fire head on. If it's a dive they want, it's a dive they'll get.
Here's an example team that may succeed:
Here's an example team that may succeed:
- Galio [Mid] - With his naturally high magic resist builds, strong poke, and excellent diving power, Galio does well against the broad spectrum of various objects he may find on the rift against this team.
- Maokai [Jungle] - The natural enemy of high damage AOE team compositions, Maokai's CC and damage mitigation does wonders against this team composition.
- Hecarim [Top] - Running tanky Hecarim top with a smite + TP combo will spell trouble for Heimerdinger's turrets.
- Leona [Support] - With her powerful CCs and innately strong diving power, Leona seems the obvious choice.
- Kalista [ADC] - Considering the amount of damage flying at your team, Kalista works well by utilizing her strong lifesteal builds. She also provides Leona an AOE knock-up, which she can use to pop all the CC with her damage mitigation skill on.
