Hi everyone and welcome back to the latest in the FOTM series. In this patch, Ekko's risen to the top of the ban list with Ryze trailing a close second. Surprisingly, Leblanc still holds a key spot on the ban priority ladder, although she's been nerfed significantly.

Thresh remains the uncontested favorite support of bot lane, although Morgana still draws more bans. Check out the full listing below!

• This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

God Tier: These champions are common bans and are likely perceived as being "overall extremely strong/broken". They have very obvious and/or flashy skills that make them appear stronger than other champions. You'll likely see these champions picked early on if they're not banned.

Tier 1: These champions are the ones you'll see in the majority of your games and are good to familiarize yourself with as you'l be battling against them a lot.

Tier 2: These champions are relatively strong and have historically been picked more often than other champions. They may have been nerfed at one point at another, but are still perceived as strong in their current states.

Tier 3: These champions aren't quite as popular as the rest of the champions in the first 3 tiers, but picking them one at a time isn't going to cause much of a concern on your team. However, if you have a team of 5 of them your teammates are likely to feel a bit uneasy about your chances of winning in solo queue.

Tier 4: Selecting these champions will likely cause a rift between you and your teammates, who will proceed to flame you if you fail your lane. Exercise caution when selecting these champions, as team morale often plays a big part in victory or defeat.

Champion Explanations

• Alistar [Tier 1 Support] - With his extremely high impact initiation and dive power, Alistar is a fast favorite for those that like to play aggressively and initiate for the team. Additionally, with his heal, he can easily shift to a sustain lane as well. Although his headbutt pulverize requires more skill than other similar level CC skills, the short cooldown and satisfying feeling pulling it off has finally brought this cow back to the top.
• Azir [Tier 1 Mid] - With some of the fanciest plays in the game, the Emperor of Shurima has captured the hearts of many summoners. A champion with an extremely high skill requirement, Azir isn't for beginners, but certainly packs a massive punch if you can master him.
• Bard [Tier 1 Support] - After an initial shaky start, Bard's quickly become one of the most beloved champions on the rift with his unique and diverse skillset. His skills do take some getting used to in order to use correctly, but the short cooldown on his two-man stun means that a high level of proficiency makes him potentially very good.
• Cho'Gath [God Tier Top] - After a stint of AP Cho'Gaths mid, he's finally evened out the playing field and sees equal play top lane as well.
• Ekko [God Tier Top] - The newest member on the rift, his 1v1 dueling potential is immense. Although he's still somewhat squishy as an assassin type, his outplay potential is through the roof.
• Kha'Zix [Tier 1 Jungle] - The newest buffs to Kha'Zix have reminded us all what kind of raw power this reset master has. There's nothing like getting one shot by a flying bug before he lands to make you feel powerless.
• Malzahar [Tier 2 Mid] - After being at the top of the win rate charts for as long many people can remember, it looks like Malzahar's time to shine has come around in the form of popularity. Seems like nerfs in a few months are inevitable.
• Renekton [Tier 1 Top] - Ever since his last set of buffs, Renekton's making a slow and steady comeback on the charts and the hearts of the populace. His lane dominance is still there, and coupled with the new Black Cleaver, he's now a staple again.
• Ryze [God Tier Top] - Despite a strong falling off in win rate these last couple patches, the terror of Ryze still keeps many awake at night. 
• Shen [Tier 2 Top] - After spending a multitude of patches in the lower rungs of the stadium, Shen's slowly working his way back up after repeated nerfs on other popular top laners.
• Vayne [God Tier ADC] - Ever since the league of tanks made its way onto the rift, Vayne's been seeing great success lately. This, coupled with the fact that many other ADCs have been nerfed since Vayne's last dominant spree have left her in an excellent position to take over.
• Vi [God Tier Jungle] - Can't keep a good jungler down. Despite number nerfs around the board, Vi still eventually manages to come back. There's something exceedingly satisfying about her ultimate asserting her dominance over an inevitable dunk that keeps you coming back for more.
