SEASON 5 - PATCH 5.10 RANKED 3'S TIER LIST
THE TWISTED TREELINE
Introduction
Hi everyone and welcome to the latest in the Twisted Treeline tier list series! This time around we're adding in both Bard and Ekko onto the map, both of which can perform well in the Treeline.Current Metagame
Right now there are two main methods of playing Twisted Treeline:
Based off of this, I'm splitting this tier list into "roles" similar to the solo queue 5s list. However, as there are only 3 positions open, I won't be including every champion into this list. If you feel that I've missed out on a strong champion, please let me know and I'll include it in the next update.
- Duo top with a support like Leona or Annie
- Two solo lanes with a jungler

AD/AP Positioning
Due to the way the map is arranged, bot lane is generally considered the "safer" lane, so the solo laner almost always goes here. However, as this game mode is somewhat uncommon, you may see teams send two champions to bot lane. As a result, it's generally best to send an AP bot with long range waveclear, as these champions can deal with both 1v1 and 1v2 lanes. This means that for the most part, the AD based champion will go top. However, swapping these around isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's a good idea to make sure that you have a mix of damage types so that the enemy team can't easily itemize against you.
Champion Explanations
- * Melee Solo - If you're planning on getting into the upper end of the Tier 3 ladder, playing with a support is definitely the way to go at the moment. However, while you're climbing melee champions can still succeed until teams start becoming more organized and skilled with their coordination.
- Ahri [AP God] - After the last few patches, Ahri's firmly re-established herself at the top of the pack for both Twisted Treeline and Summoner's Rift. With her powerful mobility and true damage, she can take on both squishies and tank champions with ease. Her movement speed boost also helps her move around the map and pick off enemies in the jungle.
- Bard [Tier 1 Support] - Where Bard is difficult to play on Summoner's Rift, he's more than viable on Twisted Treeline. With the multitude of walls, Bard's skillset allows him to grant his team insane mobility and also gives him extremely easy access to his stun.
- Cho'Gath [AP God] - Although Cho'Gath may not have the highest winrate on the Twisted Treeline, he's an extremely safe pick that does well in pretty much any situation.
- Ekko [Melee God] - As the new kid on the block, it seems like it would be better to wait a little to see how he pans out. However, as it stands at the moment, Ekko is performing insanely well on the Twisted Treeline, results he doesn't see on Summoner's Rift. His ability to trade in small skirmishes coupled with his map presence via his ultimate allows him to have an extremely high impact on the game.
- Karma [AP God] - As a Twisted Treeline staple for quite some time, Karma's latest buffs have definitely made her stronger on the map as well. She's got great small skirmishing power, and her increased sustain damage through cooldown reduction is a boon.
- Lulu [AP God] - Similar to Karma, as an already strong Twisted Treeline AP champion, AP Lulu was buffed slightly and is doing much better as well.
- Renekton [Melee God] - With the changes to Black Cleaver and more importantly to the actual champion himself, Renekton's back to being a massive lane bully that scales well into late game.
- Ryze [Tier 1 AP] - With the latest buffs on Ryze this patch, he's now on par with many other tanky burst casters.
- Sejuani [Jungle God] - Despite impending nerfs to Sejuani, she's still doing very well at the moment, but keep a lookout for when her nerfs actually hit the live server.
- Sivir [ADC God] - After nerfs on Graves, Sivir's looking to be the new dominant ADC on the map. Although I think Kalista is still stronger utility-wise, what Sivir lacks in small skirmish utility she more than makes up with sheer damage and burst power.
- The purpose of this list is for discussion and to provide a starting point for hero selection.
- While I'm by no means a guru on the Twisted Treeline I do enjoy playing the game mode quite a bit and hope that they'll introduce the solo queue 3v3 some day.
- That being said, take this tier list with a grain of salt and feel free to engage in open debate in the comment section with your own thoughts and comments. As the game mode isn't all that popular right now, hopefully this list will help spur some of you to try it out!
Season 5 December?
ReplyDeleteFixed~
ReplyDeleteWhat about AP Ez tho? tbh I'll always go for AD Ez but since this map is really narrow, doesn't ap ez benefits from that?
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for updating this tier list !
ReplyDeleteI second this!
ReplyDeleteHow about a tier list for ARAM?
ReplyDeletesome rabbit feet and jesus
ReplyDeleteHis waveclear sucks unless you use your ult, wich isnt really ideal
ReplyDeleteIsn't it also easier to collect chimes as Bard in TT? His E is really fun cuz you can use it to backdoor their nexus lol
ReplyDeleteA Hexatill tier list would be really cool.
ReplyDeleteToo much work for a featured game mode like hexakill, all teamfight champs are good.
ReplyDeleteClassic "why is ap ez so bad?" answer lol
ReplyDeleteThe one not ult ability thats aoe doesnt do dmg on minions. And like ssj said, champs that can clear lanes fast and gank top or clear waves to stall are prefered. If you can work around this, you got yoirself a strong champ. Cause small skirmishes/coridors (dont mind the spelling, wasmt emergetic enough to look it up and much rather type this) is where ez excels in. Ez.
ReplyDeleteWhat about ap kog'maw? With a tank?peeler(for example makoai) and a jungler i think can work.
ReplyDeleteUpdate plz, since the new map, the meta has changed a lot
ReplyDeleteFrozen fist
ReplyDeleteCan you update with the new map ? Thx for your work
ReplyDeleteWhat time can I play ranked 3v3 on Oce?
ReplyDeleteCan you please update it for the new map? The new turrets changes a lot of things
ReplyDeletePlease update this section with the new changes on the patch and the map.
ReplyDeleteThank you
I think Annie is a very strong pick in Twisted Treeline if you ban champion with strong catch-up and CC. Don`t think it`s a God pick, but at least I got Platinum in 3x3 with comps that worked with her.
