How Viable is Volibear Support?
I think that he works well with champions like Draven as an all-in kill lane. When the lane is ahead, Volibear has the ability to snowball a lane extremely hard as it's near impossible to avoid getting engaged on when he starts his run, and his toss back puts champions in the danger zone. The fact that his passive makes him extremely tanky is also great, as that means most lanes will choose to ignite Volibear rather than the AD carry, reducing the overall damage burden on the marksman.
On the other hand, if he starts falling behind it can start to become embarrassing, especially in a match-up like Caitlyn + Janna vs Volibear + Ezreal.

Azingy Build
By no means think that this is the best build for Volibear, but this is what he ended the game with. I'd say a Sunfire Cape or Spirit Visage probably would have gone well.
That build is called raid boss volibear, created by Trick2g : http://www.solomid.net/guide/view/119882.
ReplyDeleteTwo of the items in his final build don't even build from Giants Belt o.o
ReplyDeleteMy games are 12/2 22/3 22/0 so far. This Volibear support is insane if you have a decent ADC with you.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't think than he is the most effective support. He need big items to boost his damage where a good Taric or Blitzcrank doesn't need much item to deals damage (while having much more utility). He can work, but that's only because you got an early kill and than he snowball as a solo laner. You are not supporting, you are duo laning with an adc... that's how I feel about hims as support.
ReplyDeleteIs there a challenger player using this build for support? Seriously
