FOTM Report: Thoughts on AD Thresh
When Thresh first came out he was played in a lot of places, mid, top, jungle, ad carry, support, double lane mid, hyper troll, etc.
It's been a while since then, and like Lulu, he's pretty much mainly played as a support now. On the other hand, I have a friend who swears by AD Thresh in Gold Elo, and surprisingly he actually does pretty well with him in the majority of games he plays him. So is AD Thresh viable? Looking at his kit, I'd say he's got a good shot at going mainstream as an AD carry sometime in the near future.
Auto-attack Animation: As far as animations go, it's pretty easy to last hit with him, and when you get some attack speed it actually looks and feels awesome.
Passive: This one's pretty decent. It allows him to trade with other ad carries bot lane very well, and makes him innately tank late game against bruisers.
Death Sentence: Gives him bonus damage as the game goes on, and also gives him an Ashe-like initial burst, not bad for an AD carry. As for the active...well everyone knows how strong the hook is.
Dark Passage: Great for bringing someone in to help peel for you, saving failing teammates, and enabling jungle ganks/counterganks.
Flay: Just an extra CC, why not.
The Box: Amazing utility, and allows Thresh to stay alive through almost anything. Makes him very difficult to kill late game.
All in all, his skillset seems pretty decent for an AD carry. What he lacks in damage steroids he more than makes up for in utility and survivability, and the added unusual pick can definitely pick him up some free kills along the way.
What do you think? Comment below!
how long is his attack range?
ReplyDeletei guess blitz-thresh would be a pain in the a**
ReplyDeleteHis attack range is actually really crappy, but his skillset makes up for it.
ReplyDeleteMy friend swears by this as well, if you build a lot of flat AD on him, late game his first auto attack on squishies can do near half their health. Early laning can be rough, but late game he flourishes as a tanky adc w/ CC. I enjoy it
ReplyDeleteThresh's auto attack range is 475. Same as Janna. Vayne has 550. Caitlyn has 650.
ReplyDeleteThresh seems like a Varus with a hook...
ReplyDeleteIts shorter then Vaynes? WoW. Honestly feels longer.
