STRATEGY:
As summarized in the tag-line, this team is extremely strong with sustained damage and poke. While the team does okay in a hard engage, they really shine if they can build up enough damage on the enemy team first before engaging.
Lux's burst is nothing to scoff at, and once you rack up a comfortable amount of damage, initiating with Singed, Lux binding, Amumu ult, or Ashe arrow are all viable options. Having Janna also allows your team to position yourself and reset any accidental engages that might occur. Using her as a peeler for Ashe allows Singed and Amumu to go on the offensive, provided no assassins sneak behind allied lines.
COUNTER-STRATEGY
Champions that can hard engage like Olaf or Malphite do well in this battle, but the most important thing to note is not to chase. With the short cooldowns and heavy sustained damage on this team, it's really all or nothing. If your team falls behind and can't win a hard engage, try positioning yourselves strategically around the map to gank someone out of position. Winning a full frontal 5v5 mid is very difficult against this team if they have room to run simply because of their kiting ability.
If you want to hard engage, just remember that Janna also has her ult, which can split your team over walls and leave them easy pickings for Amumu and Singed. Ideally, before you hard engage you'll be able to make Janna waste her ult somehow. Good luck!

What about using Lulu in stead of Janna. It would allow you to get in another cc after an amumu initiate and counter some initiates with her Whimsy.
ReplyDeleteLulu could work as well I just tend to be more biased towards season one and two janna dominance. Lulu is definitely very strong now with flask taking care of her early mana problems. Thanks for posting!

ReplyDeletei think orianna works better in that comp because of the synergie between ori and mumu/singed + orianna can protect his adc as well as lux does
