Many of you complain about anecdotal evidence when it comes to tier lists and "op champions". While this is a blog and I do reserve the right to express my own opinions once in a while, I also realize the merit of statistical data over personal observations.
That's why I'll be doing weekly recaps of data collected by Lolking.Net and doing some analysis on it!
As you see above, this is a list of the top 10 champions with the highest win rate across all regions, in all Elos for this week. Let's go over each one!
Taric
Taric's really my go-to support at the moment, and I'm not all that surprised that he has the highest win-rate for the week. In fact, I'm a little surprised that it's so low! His stun is easily the most versatile for kill lane potential, since unlike Alistar or Leona, he doesn't have to commit every time he CCs an enemy. Being a ranged stun, it's also the easiest to invade with.
In terms of team fights and 2v2 lane fights, his armor aura and armor reduction on his shatter is also extremely powerful in the current meta, with AD bruisers getting more and more popular as they replace AP mids as FOTM champions. Since armor reduction stacking is also very popular at the moment, he synergizes well with the current playstyle.
Naturally, his heal also gives him the benefit of having a kill lane with sustain built in, allowing him to trade beneficially with almost every lane imaginable.
100% win rate *flex*
Evelynn
Evelynn's absolutely the most annoying mid-laner ever. She pushes extremely hard, so it's difficult to keep track of MIAs on her. This forces all lanes to play extremely passively, since she can easily choose a path to gank even if it's warded. If the enemy team chooses to pink ward a path, she can still simply lane gank. Supports can't afford to pink ward every single entrance early on (most don't do it at all), which makes her extremely powerful.
Her roaming capabilities combined with her burst really make her seem an obvious choice for solo queue domination. Not sure why she isn't banned every game.
Oops...ganked? Did I do that...
Singed
I gotta admit this one actually caught me off guard. I think the main reason Singed is doing well lately is because of the shift towards people stacking penetration items, which means HP stacking bruisers tend to do better than before. Since singed naturally always stacks HP, nothing's changed, but he's simply stronger in the meta.
Of course there could be other reasons, like I said, this one took my by surprise.
Rumble
He's still ridiculously strong. Not much to say here, I guess he's just boring/too hard for most people, and the people who do play him happen to be good at him. He's always had a high win rate...
Amumu
Also not much of a surprise. He's getting nerfed on the PBE though.
Talon
Still very strong despite cleaver nerfs, the item synergizes with him very well, even though many of its effects are now unique.
Miss Fortune
She's a huge bully in lane, but yet I don't think she should be a go-to AD carry by any means. Most people don't play her properly, and I honestly think Caitlyn is stronger.
Twisted Fate
Snowballs teams extremely quickly; if you're good at him expect to end up around the 1800+ range, but if you're not then I suggest playing Evelynn instead. She can gank earlier and more effectively.
Shaco
Been getting a lot of controversy over my placement of Shaco at Tier 2 on the tier list. Yes, he can snowball games very hard early on, but he's still a very niche champion. He's very squishy, and can start falling behind very hard if he gets counter-ganked, which is very possible if the enemy jungler understands shaco's potential.
The main reason he's doing so well right now is that people forget that you should be countering his boxes so he doesn't get a ridiculously good start. Once they do though, expect his win rate to drop drastically.
Fiddlesticks
Oh the ol' 1v5 pentakill. The new jungle changes have been kind to him; expect his win rate to rise even further in the future, especially after Amumu nerfs. His greatest asset is his counter-initiation potential, and once they commit, they've activated your trap card...
SURPRISE!
What are your thoughts on the current top 10 win rate champions? Do any of these champions need nerfs? Which ones took you by surprise? Comment below!
Surprise Party Fiddlesticks always takes me by surprise.
ReplyDeleteHe's just sneaky like that!
ReplyDeleteAs far as shaco goes i usually play him tank/bruiser your ulti makes it really hard to tell which is which always funny
ReplyDeleteI actually think Shaco AND Fiddlestick will rise even more in winrates when the nerfs to Amumu and especially Lee Sin goes live, Shaco and Fiddle is the same as Lee acording to me = tons of early/mid game ganks, and Lee sin nerfs will hurt him hard
ReplyDeleteThat's actually an interesting idea Brent! I generally play him as an assassin and pick up guardian angel later in the game. I might try him out as a tank though, what do you generally build, randuins?
ReplyDeleteThat's an excellent point Alexander, it's definitely possible that the presence of Lee is currently keeping Shaco down. I think you might be right on that point! I still think that organized fighting hurts Shaco a great deal though; it's just a matter of getting used to him as part of the meta again.
ReplyDeleteI accually try to stack health first works well in this meta as you were saying, and im not a big fan of GA on him im pritty sure the aura dosnt go on your clone? Im probs wrong though dont do a lot of jungle.
ReplyDeleteI liked your post up the other week of tele shaco though man haha teleport plus homeguard than deceive for double kill bot op :D
I actually don't remember, it's been a long time haha. I don't believe it does, but at that point your clone dies so fast the main purpose is to jump in, kill the adc carry, die, and then jump back out.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the TP shaco post! I thought it was pretty cool myself!
Surprise butt sex indeed
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by people don't play Miss Fortune right? I main ADC and Miss Fortune is far from my go to champs, but I was just curious to see if I could possibly be doing the wrong thing when I play her.
ReplyDeleteHi Rpgeesus, it's really the way that they position themselves in relation to the enemy support and how they take advantage of her passive that separate the good MFs from the great ones!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the gоod wrіteup. It if truth be tοld was a leisure account it.
ReplyDeleteLook advаnced to morе deliveгed agreeable from you!
