Hide your combustibles! The Dark Child herself is receiving a visual upgrade in an upcoming patch, and will soon be taking names and melting faces more brilliantly than ever before.
This update brings a brand new model as well as improved textures, sounds, spell effects and voice over to Annie and all of her skins. But the pain doesn’t end there, because Tibbers is also badder and more bear-like than you’ve ever seen him. The same care and attention has turned everyone’s favorite ursine firebrand into a high-def, rampaging monstrosity, ready to scorch Annie’s foes across the Fields of Justice.
Meanwhile, Grumpy Monkey had a little extra to say on the upgrades:

1.Yes all her skins got updated
2. Yes relaunch team is aware of sivir, scion, master yi, twitch, trundle,Karma,etc... and they are on the schedule for a visual rework.
3. This Annie is the same size as old Annie.
4. The eyeliner makes her face pop at game distance and makes it easier to read. The old Annie texture had eye liner too.
5. "Tibbers has stitches now?! ROIT WHY YOU CHANGE!!" He always had stitches.
6. Panties have been covered up by something more modest.
7. We are using the same voice actress for the new VO set.

ReplyDeleteI think the cone fix is actually a huge "buff" to her playability. Personally as a smart caster, I found the whole cone-detached casting to be a huge pain in the butt in tight situations.
ReplyDeletethis was a nightmare with morde.. now you can hit people over walls without smartcasting your face (and sometimes it would go backwards for accidentally moving it a pixel back)
ReplyDeleteI agree with SSJ about the cone fix being pretty big for playability. The lower cd on e also is pretty nice in that it will let you get your stuns up more rapidly/reliably. Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like Annie may be sneaking her way back into a good spot and people may not realize it yet. The small changes in addition to the visual remake are enough to make me want to pick her up again at least for a few games.
ReplyDeleteOh, absolutely. I mainly think Annie's range is pretty low and she's ulti-reliant for her teamfighting. Get her some CDR though and she'll probably be pretty strong. The cone fix is by far the best thing for her, though. I'm intimately familiar with how annoying it was as a Cho'Gath player as well.
