Riot's Taiwan Spotlight - Taipei 101 Advertises!

Look at all the pretty lights!

If you haven't seen Riot's "World Tour" starting with Taiwan yet, it's definitely worth taking a look see. I might be a little biased being Taiwanese and having been there two summers ago, but some of the stats that Riot posted are really interesting.

This one passage below caught my attention:

Since its launch just six short months ago, the Taiwanese community has embraced League of Legends with more enthusiasm than nearly any territory to date. As a matter of fact, since the signups opened in earnest, roughly 5% of the total population of Taiwan has registered for a League of Legends account! Imagine if one in every 20 people you met was a fellow League of Legends summoner!

Don't forget that this statistic isn't even 5% of people ages 10~30 in Taiwan, but 5% of the total population of Taiwan. That's a pretty ridiculous number if I do say so myself. Then again, if you ever visited the place you might not be as surprised, since Taiwanese people love gaming (myself included)

This photo above might be a part of it! If you don't recognize it, it's Taipei 101, the tallest building in the world from 2004 to 2010 until they built the new tallest one in Dubai. Apparently putting that advertisement up costs approximately $250,000 USD per night.
