Ahri's Skillset + Commentary

Ahri, the 9 tailed Fox is slated to be released on December 14th. Her skillset is noted below:

Abilities:
  • Soul Eater (Passive): Ahri gains a charge of Soul Eater whenever one of her spells hits an enemy (max: three charges per spell). Upon reaching nine charges, Ahri's next spell has a large amount of Spell Vamp.
  • Orb of Deception: Ahri sends out and pulls back her orb, dealing magic damage on the way out and True damage on the way back.
  • Fox-Fire: Ahri releases three fox-fires, which after a short delay lock on and attack nearby enemies.
  • Charm: Ahri blows a kiss that damages and charms an enemy it encounters, causing them to walk harmlessly towards her.
  • Spirit Rush (Ultimate): Ahri dashes forward and fires essence bolts, damaging three nearby champions. Spirit Rush can be cast up to three times before going on cooldown.

Commentary:
Since Riot has yet to release the ratio for her abilities, it's difficult to say what should be maxed first. Whatever is maxed first should definitely be used whenever it's synchronized with her passive in order to maximize healing, but in terms of team battles you'll probably be barely aware of her passive.

Orb of Deception: This seems like an improved Sivir boomerang with extra bonuses for being able to hit an opponent twice in a row. Interestingly enough the true damage is on the way back, which means that Ahri might have a much different Tier with people of lower ELO than of higher elo. Most likely you'll be maxing this skill first regardless.

Fox-Fire: This ability is pretty similar to Phoenix from DOTA. Depending on the AP ratios, this skill could be good or bad. It would also depend on if it only targets enemy heroes or just all enemies. Based on the screenshots, it looks like it attacks creeps though.

Charm: If the CC duration increases as you level this move up, it'll probably be maxed second. If it's channeled and/or can be broken by damage like in WoW then it's power will be greatly reduced. However, if it's simply like an improved Fiddle fear, we'll probably be hearing screams of OP on the forums based on this move.

Spirit Rush: This move could make or break Ahri depending on the range and damage that her ultimate deals along with the amount of time a summoner has between the first cast and the last to use it by.

I'll most likely be buying this hero since I'm sitting on some RP that I have yet to buy a champion with, so stay tuned for updates when she's actually released!
